  1. I found this site very informative as I had never heard of the Gulf of Mexico Dead Zone before. I had heard about areas similar to this that became deprived of oxygen due to runoff, pollution, and natural causes, but I had never heard of one so large in size. I suppose that it does make a lot of sense for this to occur in the Gulf as the Mississippi is drain tons of fresh water into the ocean.I do wonder what the severity of the Dead Zone would be without human factors like pollution just to see how much humans are to blame for causing it. If humans were largely to blame for this then action should be taken to correct the problem because it is not just detrimental to fish but our fishing industry. It always seems like despite the great fishing industry in the Gulf that something complicates things. This obviously can disrupt the areas which fish and shrimp are located and the BP oil spill as few years back also damaged the fishing industry.

  2. Ive never heard of the dead zone before and this website helped me understand what it was. I think its so interesting but horrible that there is a place that has no oxygen that cant support life, in such a large area. I think that humans make a huge impact on this dead zone and that it could have been stopped. The dead zone is deprived of oxygen due to runoff and pollution which are two things that humans can cause. The dead zone lacking oxygen effects humans and the fish.

  3. I have never heard of the Gulf of Mexico Dead Zone before and i find it very interesting and informative to know about. It explains why litering is bad for people to do and causing bad runoff, polution and natural causes. I have heard about smaller and similar caes of this before but not any that have been so large and harmful to a country. For it to happen in the Gulf of Mexico would make a lot of since because Mississippi drains their fresh water into the Gulf. I would like to know why people are such a major cause of this because of litering and increasing polution to the sea. The dead zone is such a horrible disaster and should be stoped and humans in that area should be helping instead of harming it. It not only effect human in the area but it harms the sea life and creatures.
